One of the best prop experts in Hollywood made a "new" Killdozer out of a Komatsu D-355A that was found in Porterville, California. The new machine looks almost exactly like the Killdozer used by Marv Heemeyer in his June 4, 2004 rampage in Granby, CO. This plays key roles in the new documentary film TREAD.
TREAD, the KILLDOZER film, opens with Q and A’s this week
Starting Friday, Feb. 21 the documentary film TREAD will be playing on the big screens at theaters in Colorado and nationwide. It will be coming to The Foundry Cinema and Bowl in Winter Park / Fraser on Friday, Feb. 28 for one week.
The excitement is building for this film, which is based on source material from my book “KILLDOZER: The True Story of the Colorado Bulldozer Rampage.” Paul Solet is the director and he did a fine job on this film, which has lots of original footage and many recreations of past events that help put this disturbing event in perspective.
Question and Answer sessions at the film showings
I will be doing Question and Answer sessions after the showings in several theaters that first week and I will be curious to see how people react to the film and to the story in general.

Saturday, Feb. 22 I will be at The Lyric in Fort Collins for the 6:30 showing. The address is 1209 N College Ave. The film plays there until Feb. 28.
Sunday, Feb. 23 I will be at Reel Mountain Theatre in Estes Park, 543 Big Thompson Ave., at the 1:45 showing for an after-showing discussion. And then I’ll help introduce the 4 p.m. showing. The film plays there until Feb. 28.
Monday, Feb. 24 I plan to be at the Alamo Drafthouse Littleton 7 at the 6:30 showing. The address is 7301 S. Santa Fe Dr., Unit #850. This is the last night of a three-night showing.
Tuesday, Feb. 25 I plan to be at The Kress in Greeley for the 6:30 showing. The address there is 817 8th Ave. The film is at the Kress for one week.
And locally here in Grand County I’m on top to be at the evening showings of the film Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28 and 29 at the Foundry Cinema and Bowl in Fraser / Winter Park. The film plays there for one full week in case movie-goers can’t make it that weekend.
